Kyuhyun's parents had been religious bigots but he had, despite all that had happened, turned out a little different. He was a little jaded, a little rough at the edges (in which he used to hide himself.) and he was basically the type who made his parents question, "What went wrong? We did everything we could. Why can't he be like that neighbour's child. Sweet, religious one that child is." but everybody knew the answer.
Kyuhyun had lost his voice in a freak accident that also gave him a scar that ran from his shoulder blades to the end of his spine and the mark that would forever scar his hip. He had given up on the world, given up on his parents' God and eventually, with time, his parents. They never looked at him the same again and with a sense of sight that grew sharper and sharper, he could see the hatred and profound disgust that his parents tried so hard to shield away.
He knew that he would forever be the disabled and unwanted child in his family so he left. He packed his bags, one night and left with only a bag of clothes and personal things (the very few things he treasured and none of them had been relics of his childhood). The note on his oak table would be read by his parents the next morning.
Don't bother looking for me.
-Kyuhyun.
They would be stunned for a moment, Kyuhyun predicted, but they would be fine. He knew that. Now, his only problem was where to go. He was, after all, only 17 and had just finished education at the 'special' school he attended. As he wandered mindlessly among the other people of the city, his hand holding tight onto the strap of the bag which was slung on his shoulder, he felt a soft breeze carress his cold hands. It tugged at his fingers as if to say, 'this way. we'll find a place to go.'
On a whim, he followed it.

When Kyuhyun was a child, he had seen the most spectacular sight (which he would later forget). The cloudy sky had split into two and a ball of light descended from the Heavens. The light grew and grew but slowly faded as a young man appeared in its place. He had the fairest skin Kyuhyun had ever seen and the most shiny black hair, which framed a cute face. Kyuhyun could see that the man was very, very pretty and he was slim (but not small) in his black clothes.
Kyuhyun was mesmerized and he thought, at that moment, that this was something he never wanted to tell his mother of father. This was going to be his little story which he would keep close to him. This was going to be his treasure (officially replacing the shiny marbles that his father had bought for him the other day.)
When the man opened his eyes (and they were bright and hazel-coloured, which Kyuhyun had never seen before), Kyuhyun asked, "Are you here to play with Kyuhyun?"
The look which Kyuhyun received as an answer was clearly one of surprise and Kyuhyun imagined it to say, "You can see me?" but the smile that followed was warm and almost kind.
